Mixed media encaustic depiction of Boston. A watercolor and ink drawing of the topography is overlaid with layers of wax, which are carefully carved and filled with oil pigment to represent major roadways and the paths we travel. The process of brushing the wax over the surface leaves unique marks and texture, some of which are intentionally left and enhanced with pigment.

This piece is ‘unmarked’ so you can add a location that is special to you at checkout, and I will add a red triangle to represent it. This can be viewed on other pieces in the shop.
