Mixed media encaustic depiction of Alpharetta, GA. Over the course of two years of travel this is one of the places I stayed for a longer period of time and in between international travel. The details of the lines show the beauty that exists in the layout of apartment and housing complexes, when viewed from a different perspective.

A watercolor and ink drawing of the topography is overlaid with layers of wax, which are carefully carved and filled with oil pigment to represent major roadways and the paths we travel. The process of brushing the wax over the surface leaves unique marks and texture, some of which are intentionally left and enhanced with pigment.
